NUMC's Tape Ministry
"So the Word could be Heard"
An important ministry of North United Methodist Church which started around 1985 and ran off/on till around 2007 was the Tape Ministry. Back in those days Audio Cassettes were the way that many people listened to music/speech so Audio Techs/Engineers like Wayne Ellerman, Bob Doll, John Leap, Justin Dockery, and Paul & Ellie Reynolds recorded many of the services and made copies of them which were then taken to generally 5-20 people throughout the week so they could have some fellowship, virtually attend, and still be a part of the NUMC family.
In the end this actually was a win win for not only the various people that the tapes were being made for but for NUMC itself as they have left a really good audio record of what church at NUMC was like. Work on digitizing all of the known surviving Audio Recordings from NUMC professionally remastering them to as close to CD Quality as possible in the process (all of which are pictured above along with some deck repairs that had to be made to do it) was started Late March of 2020 and was completed Late June of 2022 through countless hours of work on Justin Dockery's behalf (like I said on the Home page this was a God Felt Calling to complete this project so glad I'm finally able to deliver on it).
Below are the links to the Google Drives that have what's left of all the known surviving Audio Recordings made at NUMC (approximately 25.7GB total in size). Use the Database Link to actually view what's on each Google Drive, return to this page once you see something you like, click the Google Drive that has what interests you, find it, download it, and give it a listen there's a lot of good stuff. Keep in mind there's also a good chance that if you are reading this you can be found in various places in these Audio Recordings too.
