Welcome to The North United Methodist Church of Sarasota Florida's
Online Historical Archive
"Where J-O-Y Reigns: Jesus First, Others Second, Yourself Last"
If you're looking for what once was North United Methodist Church of Sarasota, FL (NUMC now Crossroads) you've come to the right place. This saved from the hands of time archive is a digital version of the multi-book version that's been made to the best possible quality, is easy to view/share, put in the best known chronological order, is very well documented, has been made fairly simple to navigate, and is now ready for you to enjoy.
There's a lot and I mean A LOT of media up here. If you mouse over and look at the file names on the images or just download any of them you'll see that a great deal of time/effort was spent trying to make sure the right people are documented in the right places at the right times.
While this has been quite a process to work thru (and believe it or not a God Felt Calling to the guy behind it) its been well worth it. If you download all of the images in this archive (see the CONTACT page for the link) it makes it quick to search for people and even yourself if you think you might be mentioned anywhere in it which if you're reading this right now there's a really good chance that you are.
Feel free to look around all that you like (most of the images enlarge if clicked for easy viewing), download anything that you might want to have a copy of, and make sure to stop by the TAPES page while you're here to get a listen of all of the known surviving AUDIO RECORDINGS from NUMC all of which have been professionally remastered to as close to CD Quality as possible and are just as well documented as everything else in this digital archive.
THANK YOU!!! to NUMC's Book Historians: Pearl Summerville, Fran Moon, Kitty & Don Pierson, and Eleanor Sandbach for laying the foundation, to people like Janet Leap, Jay Martin, Cheryl Orr, Keith Givens, and Sharron & Dave Schar who have helped answer questions as they have come up, to Crossroads Pastor Bob Suter for his help, to Sarah Dockery for helping to digitally restore some of the images, and to NUMC's Digital Historian Justin Dockery who put it all together and brought this Online Historical Archive Live as of Late June 2022.
Just so you're aware as well in case you weren't Janet Leap passed away in July of 2023. While I'm sad that she is no longer with us I did see her in the last year, know she was in good hands then, and is in literally in the best hands now.
